New Leadership Will Deliver Results for Our School District

Greetings Teaneck Community,

I am Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum, and I am excited to introduce myself as a candidate for the Teaneck Board of Education. With nearly 50 years of dedicated experience in education, both in public and private settings, I am deeply committed to the future of our schools and the success of our students.

My educational journey has taken me through various roles, each of which has contributed to my profound understanding of the intricacies of education. I have proudly served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent in New Rochelle, New York. In these capacities, I have had the privilege of shaping curriculum, guiding instruction, and writing successful grant proposals. One of my most significant achievements was co-authoring a $3.2 million magnet grant, which brought invaluable resources to the Reggio Emilia Early Childhood Center and two magnet schools. This accomplishment not only highlights my expertise in securing funding but also demonstrates my commitment to innovative educational programs. My leadership extends beyond the public sector. I have proudly served as the Headmaster of Moriah School, where I oversaw the education of 1,000 PreK-8 students. Additionally, I have held the position of President on the Board of Education for a private school, allowing me to gain insights into the unique challenges and opportunities that both public and private educational institutions face. My vision for the Teaneck Board of Education is to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and academically enriching environment for our students. I believe in the power of collaboration, transparency, and community engagement to achieve this vision. Together, we can ensure that Teaneck's schools remain a source of pride and excellence.

As a candidate for the Teaneck Board of Education, I am committed to leveraging my extensive experience and passion for education to make a positive impact on the future of our community. I humbly ask for your support and trust in this important endeavor.

Thank you for considering me as your advocate for quality education in Teaneck.
